Boasting over 20,000 students, Canterbury University is the size of a large town – Pukekohe, to be precise. Tom Innes is the ecumenical chaplain at UC, while Paul Stanaway from the bordering parish of St Barnabas lends a hand, and works closely with the College House hall of residence. All those students and staff guarantee that a Uni chaplain’s life is never a dull one. Tim Chesney ventured onto campus to capture a day in the life of our university chaplains.
The 7.1 earthquake that hit Christchurch on September 4 has damaged many churches throughout the diocese, but spirits within parishes seem to be holding up.
